Everything in Fill PDF runs in your browser — the file is never uploaded anywhere. Your device renders the PDF, you place annotations on top, and the download bakes those annotations into the file permanently. Close the tab without downloading and the work is gone.
- Do my files leave my device?
- No. Fill PDF is 100% client-side — all processing happens in your browser. Your files never leave your device.
- Can I fill in a PDF form for free online?
- Yes. Fill PDF is completely free with no signup and no account. Everything runs in your browser — nothing is uploaded.
- Can I sign a PDF with EmergePDF?
- Yes. Use the Sign tool to draw your signature on the pad, then click anywhere on the page to place it. You can move and resize it after placing.
- Can I fill in actual PDF form fields?
- Fill PDF lets you place text anywhere on the page, which works for most forms. For PDFs with interactive AcroForm fields, the text tool places text on top of the field rather than filling it natively.
- What happens if I close the tab without downloading?
- Your work is not saved between sessions. Download the filled PDF before closing the tab — there's no way to recover it afterward.
- Can I use Fill PDF on mobile?
- Yes, the tool works on mobile browsers. Placing annotations is easier with a stylus or on a larger screen, but it works fine with touch.
- Is a drawn signature legally valid?
- A drawn signature on a PDF can be legally valid in many jurisdictions when both parties agree to electronic signatures. For contracts with strict compliance requirements (like eIDAS), use a dedicated e-signature service.
- Can I undo mistakes?
- Yes. Use the Undo button to remove the last annotation, or Clear All to start over on the current page.
